Essie turned around to face her older brother.
"Evan!" She yelled at the top of the stairs, "Leave me alone!"
Evan was a tall, lanky, and caring brother. But by Essie's standards, equaled annoying. Evan had just been notified about the real reason behind Essie's "rug-burn".
Though the Hallers had a nice home, stable income, and were overall a happy family, that didn't stop the flaws from pouring in.
Over the past few years, the Haller parents, Isa and Jamie, had some troubles. Their daughter, Essie, had developed an intense social anxiety problem. They had tried talking with her about it, now they had hired a therapist. But new scratches and burns were appearing on Essie and her parents hadn't the faintest clue.
